My focus today, not just for myself but also for all of my clients, is the concept of gratitude. I feel like it is always the perfect time to get back to the feeling of gratitude and to learn how to embrace it every day of the year.
I am very grateful to everyone that I have in my life because they have helped shape me.
I am grateful for every experience that I’ve had in my life, good, bad and indifferent, because it has helped me clarify my purpose in this lifetime.
I am grateful for everything that I have learned and will learn in my lifetime because it has given me a reason to live the way that I do and to be whom I am.
I am grateful for all the things that I do not yet know or the people that I have yet to meet because it gives me even more of a reason to keep living, keep learning and keep loving.
What are you grateful for? Who are you grateful for?
Make it a habit, even just for this season, to tell the people in your life that you are grateful for them. If you want, tell them why. Watch how your feelings of gratitude flow into them as they become even more grateful to have YOU in their lives.
Here are some thoughts on gratitude that I would love to share with you today.
How has gratitude affected your life? How does gratitude continue to affect your life?
“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity…. It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
-Melodie Beattie
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
-John F. Kennedy
“The Pilgrims made seven times more graves than huts. No Americans have been more impoverished than these who, nevertheless, set aside a day of thanksgiving.”
-H.U. Westermayer
“The hardest arithmetic to master is that which enables us to count our blessings.”
-Eric Hoffer
“Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.”
-Cicero
