They’re H-E-R-E!
I don’t mean Freddy or Jason or the guy from Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
It’s the holidays!
No matter what you celebrate, this holiday season can have you living it up and also pulling your hair out!
It’s doesn’t have to be this way!
Today, we’re going to talk about Holiday Recovery!
It almost seems like the same thing, but considering the sheer volume of holiday parties- downsized or not- holiday foods, holiday drinks but mostly importantly, holiday bills, it’s amazing that any of us survive past New Year’s Day.
Believe it or not, but Nature dictates that we slow down this time of year.
Think about it, bears hibernate; trees and flowers, for the most part, are leafless and gray. Most birds have gone south for the winter.
The most telling sign is the innate desire to hit the couch during the latest snowfall.
But as humans, we decided to make our own way and speed up the winter.
We overdose on parties, foods, gift giving, family time, stress levels and everything else you can think of.
So to survive after the holidays, my biggest piece of advice is this:
Slow down!
Slow down now.
Don’t wait until your holiday shopping is done, but do it now.
The parties will still be there.
The shopping and cooking will still be there.
Your family and friends will still be there.
Most especially, your bills will still be there.
Slow yourself down so that you can enjoy and really celebrate the spirit of the season before it’s reduced down to bags full of garbage, holiday leftovers and high credit card interest rates.
What have you got to lose?
Slow it down and enjoy.
The New Year is right around the corner, so allow yourself to now savor what’s left of this year.
Have a wonderful holiday season and a very happy and healthy New Year!
