The 21 Day Gratitude Journey, Day 6

NEW TO THE GRATITUDE JOURNEY?  HERE’S A QUICK OVERVIEW!

JOIN IN WHENEVER YOU’RE READY…

HERE’S THE PLAN:

I’LL SPEND THE NEXT 21 DAYS FOCUSED ON GRATITUDE. EACH DAY I WILL FOCUS ON ONE ASPECT & EACH DAY I WILL SHOW MY GRATITUDE & APPRECIATION TO SOMEONE NEW.

And what I’d love is for you to join me. Tell your friends, your family, co-workers, anyone.

I honestly feel that if we can embrace gratitude & all the goodness in the world, then we’ll be able to make amazing & far reaching positive change.

We are all capable of amazing things & it’ll take far less effort than you may think!

Gratitude is step one.

Assignment for Day 6:

1. How do you show gratitude to the challenges that have presented themselves in your life either currently or in the past?

Even though challenges may appear to be nothing by negativity, there is always something to be gained in them.  There could be a lesson you learn, new people, places or experiences that you may be exposed to among other things.

The hardest part is seeing that gratitude can exist in even the most challenging experience. And when you can see that, there is so much more gratitude that you can experience overall.

Is there a challenge in your past that you’d now like to make peace with, an experience that you can now be grateful for but never realized it while you were going through it?  If so, then choose gratitude now.

Is there a challenge currently that you are grateful for? Are you able to express your gratitude now?  If so, then choose gratitude now.

Spend a few minutes thinking & writing. Choose one place to collect your thoughts for our 21 day journey.

2. Choose your sixth person to show gratitude to. You are free to speak your gratitude, write your gratitude or show your gratitude.

Any way that feels the most appropriate, that is how you need to do it.

Be honest & open. You are doing everything right!

Please feel free to share your thoughts below. Ask for help, guidance or support.

We’re all in this together

Great introduction to the concept of gratitude and I like the steps listed. I have a saying on the wall by my desk:
Focus on the positive in ALL things.

The truth is, even in our worst situation, we still have an overwhelming amount to be grateful for.

Thanks for your comment Rob. I totally agree. Even in what we might consider the worst thing ever, we have so much to be grateful for. It’s a concept that I struggle with sometimes when I throw myself a pity party. The good thing is that I’m able to really open up my eyes and see the truth & all that I have before I get sucked down into the misery.

I’m in the process of redecorating pretty much everything. I’ll take a page from your book and start surrounding myself with more positive words! Thanks for sharing that!

For me, I try to think of challenges as God’s way of telling me to slow down. There is something that i’m missing.

I’m very grateful for all of the challenges in my life because they enable me to grow as a human being whether or not I had seen any need for growth in the first place.

But challenges in and of themselves are usually met with resistance- normal for sure- and I need to learn to not immediately rebel against challenges or crumble underneath them.

This is my current battle. Choosing my boundaries & letting myself work though the challenges instead of falling back & allowing them to have their way.
